RONAN — Don’t you just love computers? I had just about finished this column, when my web page “expired” and I lost everything. If this wasn’t a new computer, it might just have “expired” right out the window. It doesn’t spell very well, either.

At least we have a nice spring day to enjoy. It makes me almost want to go out and work in my flowerbeds. Almost.

Nichole Goss of the Hearing Aide Institute joined us last week, and spent her time cleaning hearing aides for those who needed it. She will be here on the second Wednesday of each month to perform this service. There is no cost for this, and you don’t need an appointment. She will be here at 11 a.m. and stay as long as necessary.

We had a great turnout for our St. Patrick’s Day dinner. George Stonehocker blessed us when he sang an old Irish song for us.

The senior commodities are in. If you haven’t picked yours up yet, please do as soon as you can. If you have any questions, please call the COA at 406-676-2368.

The tax representatives from AARP are here every Wednesday to help you with your taxes. Call 406-676-2371 to make an appointment. There is no charge for this service, but donations can be made to the center, and will be greatly appreciated.

AARP will also be having a Drivers Safety Course here at the center on Thursday, May 11. The class will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Please call 406-676-2371 for an appointment.

Our monthly birthday dinner is on Friday, March 31. Come in and enjoy a delicious roast beef dinner with us, have great fellowship with your friends, listen to the music, take a chance on the 50/50 raffle and maybe win a door prize. All that can be yours for just $4 if you are 60 years or older and just $5 if you are under 60.

Our menu for the rest of the month is:

— Wednesday, March 22: Irish Brunswick stew

— Friday, March 24: salmon filets

— Monday, March 27: bacon wrapped meatloaf

— Wednesday, March 29: beef stroganoff

— Friday, March 31: that great roast beef dinner I told you about.

The Mission Valley Senior Center is opened for noon meals on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost for these meals is either $4 or $5, depending on your age. We also serve one evening meal a month, and that is at 5:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. The cost of this meal is $5, no matter what your age is.

We have a great book exchange going on and we usually have a puzzle on the table, the pool table is always ready for a game, and the fellowship here is great.

You don’t have to be senior citizen to join us for our meals and activities. So, come on in and join us and see how much we have to offer. If you are new to the community, or just visiting, your local senior center is a great place to meet and make new friends. (Not to mention that the food is great, and cheaper than anywhere else in town).

Our thought for the week is: If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip. Have a great week and enjoy the great weather.
