News from the American Legion

POLSON — The American Legion District No. 4 advanced Colin Norick of Columbia Falls High School to the Department Level of the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Contest, according to Vice Commander/Adjutant Glen Sharbono.

The contest took place Sunday in Polson.

District No. 4 paid out $275 in prize money to the top three places along with bronze, silver, and gold District level medals. Each participant also received a certificate of appreciation. The family of the winner was also given $100 from the District to help in the costs of accompanying their child to the Department Contest in Helena on March 11.

“Thank you to all of the judges, timekeepers, tabulators and ushers that helped to make this year’s event a success,” Sharbono said.
