News from the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation

Extraordinary Boys and Girls Club members for the month of February in Polson are Aurorea Lawrence and Cortlin Brisbin.

Aurorea is 8 years old, in the second grade, and has been coming to the club for six months or so. Aurorea was chosen to be the member of the month because she is polite, has a friendly personality and is always eager to participate in club activities. She enjoys playing silent ball, one of our inside physical activities, and also enjoys doing crafts in the art room. At home, Aurorea likes riding her bike or watching TV with her mom. Her goal for the future is to be a ballerina.

Cortlin also likes riding his bike when he is at home. He spends his time participating in Boy Scout activities, and hopes to one day become an Eagle Scout. Cortlin is 10 years old, in the fifth grade, and has been a club member for four years. He was chosen as a member of the month for his infectious smile and awesome sense of humor. When at the club, and at home, he enjoys reading and spending time on the computer.

Polson members of the month for March are Raiden Bullchild and Dalton White.

With the beginning of spring comes more opportunity to get outside and become active. Raiden is especially excited about that. He has been coming to the club for two years, is in second grade, and is 7 years old. He was chosen as a member of the month for his willingness to exceed club expectations and his kindhearted personality. When at the club, Raiden likes going outside and being in the tech room. At home, especially when the weather is bad, he enjoys watching videos or playing video games. He’s still undecided about his life plans – as he says “there are just so many options.”

The other Polson March member of the month, Dalton White, is also a 7-year-old second grader. She’s been a club member for six months. Dalton has a spunky attitude and big, bright smile. She loves all the games at the club and enjoys the healthy snacks she is served. When she’s not at the club, she is playing with her brother and sister. She also enjoys visiting her aunt. Dalton plans on sharing her beautiful smile and positive attitude with the world as a singer when she grows up.

Ronan members of the month are also treasures to celebrate.

Donna Kelly-Diaz and Noah Smith are February members of the Month. Donna, a super sweet 7-yearold, has been coming to the Boys and Girls Club for about a year. She has some great friends at the club and feels that it is a fantastic place for her to spend time with them doing all sorts of activities. Donna likes to watch Nick-toons on TV, but also loves art, computers, soccer, and basketball. She’s really good at math and also loves to read. Her favorite color is pink, she likes pizza, loves cats and hopes to realize her dream of being an artist when she grows up. Her artistic talent is apparent in the work she does at the club.

Noah Smith, a great Ronan club member, has been coming to the club for a while and has great times there with his friends. He also likes pizza, the color red, and thinks pandas are a really neat animal. He also enjoys playing football, tag, swimming and participating in SMART Moves. Batman is one of his favorite shows. Noah has an awesome smile and we are glad that he chooses to spend his time at the Boys and Girls Club.

Ronan members of the month for March, SxwPLstwe’ (Warrior) Charlo and Alexis Sinclair are both rays of sunshine.

Warrior is a 6-year-old kindergartener who loves playing baseball and running. He never misses an opportunity to play outside at the club. He is a big fan of the Green Lantern and has been reading Who Knew There’d Be Ghosts? during Power Hour (homework time at the club). He likes to participate in the Lego building challenges at the club, thinks cheetahs are awesome animals, loves pizza and the color red. Warrior wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

Alexis Sinclair is an outstanding 8-year-old club member with an infectious smile. She also enjoys all the outdoor club activities and working in the tech lab. Alexis has two favorite colors – blue and green, also likes pizza, and loves riding horses. Her book of choice is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Alexis plans on being a teacher when she grows up.
