POLSON – The snow and ice of winter are gone, and now the trash along our streets and roadways must “be gone” too. Polson’s annual community-wide Clean Up! Green Up! has been set for Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7.
Headquarters will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 5 in the Atrium Room of the North Lake County Public Library just north of Polson City Hall. The Beautification Committee of Envision Polson will hand out gloves, trash bags, and orange vests to volunteers and will also assign areas for clean-up. They will also serve coffee, tea, water and cookies to volunteers free of charge.
Republic Services is once again providing a big dumpster for the trash picked up along public streets and parks. Please, no household garbage. If Friday, May 5 is not a convenient day to give time to the effort, the dumpster will be in place through Sunday, May 7.
Because Polson is located in one of the most beautiful areas of our country, and thus receives so many visitors, the Beautification Committee is hoping business owners/employees, service clubs, and individuals will all commit some time to making our town trash free and looking its best.
Other clean up opportunities in May:
Polson City crews will pick up and haul away free of charge leaves and branches piled at the curb by 8 a.m. on Friday, May 12. Please, no household garbage.
Glacier Bank Shred Day is Friday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The main branch at 50510 Hwy 93 is accepting two boxes per person free of charge.
If you have electronics to get rid of, take your old TV set, flat screen computer monitors, cell phones, copiers, printers, cords, electronic waste to the transfer station on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Do you have an old junk vehicle to get rid of? Call Tracy Burland of Tracy’s Auto and Marine at 406-261-6592 for date and time. He will pay you $50 and haul the junker away at no charge.
