I am thrilled with the opportunity to serve Lake County’s wonderful residents - both our people and our animals.

I have spent the better part of 22 years in Western Montana since coming here to study Wildlife Biology at UM. My wife and I were married just down the road near Ninepipe Wildlife Refuge, so I have a special connection to this place.

I look forward to working with our local community to identify potential for program development, and I am especially excited to work with Tribal members to serve their needs, listen to their stories and work collaboratively on projects. My door is always open if community leaders and elders want to come by and say hello.

I am also thrilled to be just down the road from Polson, and I look forward to meeting business and community leaders at upcoming events and chamber meetings while pursuing collaborative partnerships that serve the community’s needs. This has long been one of my passions, which grew out of my prior experience with nonprofit development, working as an executive director for a wildlife conservation organization, where I focused on coalition building, community outreach, volunteer organizing, fundraising and education.

Having worked several years at the Humane Society of Western Montana and served as an officer with Missoula County Animal Control, I am well acquainted with the needs of our region and the unique opportunities and challenges facing our communities. I would love to listen to your ideas about what would benefit our animals and our residents: a critter camp for youth, special events, educational programs, community assistance programs …? Please feel free to leave feedback or ideas in our comments box at the shelter door, or drop in to say hello.

As is common during transitions, we currently have many needs, so we are looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks. We’d love to see you at the shelter and help you channel your unique gifts into helping us serve animals and people. If you’re looking for a great opportunity, we also have a current opening for an office assistant.

I look forward to meeting you.
