RONAN — Well, shut my mouth. Last Friday I made the remark that it hadn’t rained all day, and when I went to go outside a few minutes later, it was pouring. Montana weather: if you don’t like it, wait a minute and it will change.

Welcome to May. I can hardly wait to see all the flowers that the April showers brought us.

The AARP Drivers Safety Course will be held here from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, May 11. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Call the center at 406-676-2371 if you want to sign up for the class.

Our Thursday evening meal is on May 11 at 5:30 p.m. we will serve a great pork roast dinner. The cost is only $5 and you get a full meal, including dessert. (And we all know that dessert is the best part of any meal).

The foot clinic is on Wednesday, May 17. The nurse gets here about 10 a.m. and stays until she runs out of clients. There is not a cost for this service but donations are always welcome, and they help to keep the program going.

Bridge is played every Monday following the noon meal, and everyone is welcome to join in.

The Monday night Pinochle group meets at 7 p.m. on May 15. Again, they are always happy to have people join them.

The arts/crafts group is meeting again on Wednesday afternoons. If you like to paint or have something else to work on, please come on in and join them.

Our menu for the following two weeks is:

—  Wednesday, May 10: brunch,

—  Thursday, May 11: pork roast at 5 p.m.

—  Friday, May 12: pork enchiladas

—  Monday, May 5: Shepherds’ pie

—  Wednesday, May 17: chicken Alfredo

—  Friday, May 19: a variety of soups and sandwiches.

The center is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the noon meal, and on the second Thursday of the month for the 5:30 p.m. meal. The cost for the noon meal is $4 if you are 60 years or older and $5 if you are under 60. The cost of the Thursday night meal is $5 for everyone. You don’t have to be a senior to join us for our meals and other functions. If you are new to the community, this is a great place to make new friends.

Thought for the week: Don’t mention that it hasn’t rained all day.
