POLSON – Polson swept visiting Stevensville on May 2, with a 5-2 victory from the girls and a 7-0 shutout from the boys.
Cassie Carlyle topped Ashley Eyre 6-0, 6-0 and doubles team of Kyler Lundeen and Olivia Hewston claimed the victory in the No. 1 doubles match for the Pirates.
Colin Kenney cruised to a straight-sets win in No. 1 singles, while Cadis Chowning and Matt Sitter rolled to a win in the top doubles match.
Mission hosted a dual match with Bigfork and Darby on May 2. The girls fell 5-0 to Darby and 4-0 to Bigfork. The boys dropped their match 2-0 Darby and split 1-1 with Bigfork. Mission’s No. 1 doubles team of Warren Castor and Tine Toemkoa won their match over Bigfork.
On Friday, Ronan competed in a two-day tournament in Missoula that was hosted by Valley Christian.
Bailey Moss and Coleman Taylor won both of their singles matches helping Ronan defeat Cut Bank 2-1 and Anaconda 3-0.
Pro-set style matches were held on Saturday. In singles action, Chiefs’ Colman Taylor placed second in the Gold bracket. Taylor won his firstround match over Caleb Thompson of Anaconda 6-2, 6-2 and defeated Toran Garnass of Loyola in the semifinals 6-2, 6-2.In the finals match, Taylor fell to Valley Christian’s Will Hartzell 6-3, 6-2.
Missions’s doubles team of Castor and Toemka won the doubles Gold bracket over Bigfork 8-1. On the ladies’ side, Maidens’ doubles team BreAnna Turpin and Maddy Sevier placed third in the Bronze bracket.
Ronan and Mission will compete starting on Thursday at the state divisional matches held in Ronan.
