Linderman ends year kicking off ‘Wellness Program’

POLSON — Linderman Elementary School teachers, under the leadership of the school’s librarian, Roxanne Hovenkotter, are collaborating with St. Luke Community Healthy Care’s Healthy Kids, Fit Families Program to develop a Wellness Program for their students. The St. Luke program will help fund Linderman’s end of the year Sizzling Summer Send-off.

Brittany Simonich, another teacher-leader implementing Linderman’s wellness program said, “Linderman is excited to partner with St. Luke … Through St. Luke’s generous donation, our school is promoting the 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go program school-wide. To kick off the program and end our school year with a bang, we are hosting a 1- mile fun run and wellness fair on June 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Linderman. We have invited business owners to promote their business and healthy summer activities at the wellness fair. Families are encouraged to run with their Linderman student, walk through the wellness fair, and eat a free healthy lunch. The event will end with school-wide recess games. We are thankful for this partnership and are looking forward to continuing this partnership with St. Luke to bring residents into classrooms to talk to students about how important it is to stay active and eat a healthy, balanced diet.”
