ARLEE – Valedictorian Bryndle Goyins addressed the Class of 2017 in the Arlee High School gym on Sunday by comparing high school to a round of bull rides.

The first bull she drew was called Freshman Year. She said you’re in the chute, hands shaking, and you give the signal to begin a year long ride, then, “It ends before you know it.”

The tension calms down a bit during the next few years, although Junior Year is a “mean ride.” Senior Year is a bull that will really test your patience, she said, but it’s a time to thank everyone for their help.

Goyins finished her speech by congratulating her class and telling them that their next big ride would be called Life.

During Kassidy Rubel’s salutatorian address she lamented how fast the four years of high school went. She congratulated her fellow graduates and thanked everyone for their support. First grade teacher Anne Tanner gave the commencement address and asked graduates to be proud of the leaders they have become.
