POLSON – Fifty-eight participating seniors of the PHS Class of 2017 were treated to a fun-filled night of alcohol and drug-free events following graduation on Saturday, June 3. Held at Sky Ridge Ranch east of Ronan, participating seniors enjoyed dancing to a DJ, learning and playing blackjack, walloping one another in the National Guard inflatable boxing ring, competing in “Marshmallow/ toothpick tower” building, and a spontaneous rousing game of kickball, among other events.
At the end of the night, the seniors were brought back to Polson High School for a 1 a.m. breakfast and distribution of donated prizes. Every senior received at least one substantial prize with six grand prizes awarded at random. Grand prizes included two mountain bikes, a kayak, a GoPro, a tablet, and a locked treasure chest with $200 cash inside. Each senior was given a key and whoever’s key opened the lock, kept the cash.
According to Dave Ayers, one of the event organizers, “Fun times, and happy, safe memories were had by all.”
