POLSON – According to Small Town Girl Coffee owners Tanya Reiser Patrick and Tasha Avison, their coffee stand is much more than just a business.

“We want to serve our community,” Tanya said. “Not just with coffee, but with happiness in a cup. We try to actually get to know our customers and be a positive part of their lives.”

Most customers are on a first name basis with Tanya and Tasha, and, if not, the ladies will still speak with them as if they are. “Our goal is to send happiness out the window,” Tasha said. Their friendly focus plays right into their business name, “Small Town Girl Coffee,” and their business’ atmosphere radiates that small-town feel.

Small Town Girl Coffee opened in March 2017 and is located just north of Polson, across the bridge on U.S. Highway 93. Tasha, who also owns Perfectly Imperfect in Polson, came up with the idea for the stand.

Perfectly Imperfect is where Tasha and Tanya met. Before moving to Polson Tanya heard about the vintage store and looked forward to shopping there once she arrived. “I went into the store and introduced myself,” Tanya said. “Eventually I ended up helping out with some of the marketing and we just....” Tasha finished her sentence with “Clicked.”

Their friendship turned into a business partnership once Tasha talked about the idea for Small Town Girl Coffee on a trip the two took together. Tanya quickly agreed to participate.

Although they both had business experience, neither had worked as a barista before. They received training from Colter Coffee and hired experienced employees.

“This is not just a job for our employees. Each one of them embodies all the great qualities of Small Town Girl Coffee,” Tasha explains. “Happy, wholesome, humble, and a little sassy.”

Although Small Town Girl Coffee recently opened, Tasha and Tanya have a goal to expand. They plan to open more locations without losing their personal connections with customers.

“We are ready to focus on our vision and bring something unique to Polson,” Tanya said. Both are enthusiastic about the future of their new business.

Small Town Girl Coffee is open from 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the weekends. In addition to a variety of coffee beverages, they also sell baked goods, quiches, and Red Bull drinks from their kiosk.
