POLSON — We are presently looking for someone to take over my job. My body is beginning to give me fits although my mind is still all there. The jury is still out on that one, however. There are days when I don’t know if I’ve found a saddle or lost a horse.
Bridge results for Tuesday, Aug. 15: Max Neeley took first and Bob Gorsuch second, same as on Aug. 8 last week. No scores available for Friday; let us just assume that Max took first. Bob suffered a fall and is in the hospital. We are all hoping he has a full recovery so he can get back and challenge Max.
Our annual membership drive is in September with a kick-off on the 11th at lunch featuring banana splits. Membership is $15 per year and you don’t have to be a senior.
Clara is conducting another driving class on Sept. 12 to accommodate all those who couldn’t be included in her last full-up class.
Bingo is still played here every Friday night. First game is at 7 p.m. culminating with a $100 black-out game.
The lunch menu for the coming week:
— Thursday, Aug. 24: Polish dogs, baked beans
— Friday, Aug. 25: roast beef, whipped potatoes, birthday lunch
— Monday, Aug. 28: breaded lake trout, mac and cheese
— Tuesday, Aug. 29: porcupine meatballs, noodles
— Wednesday, Aug. 30: barbecue chicken, baked potato
All meals include vegetables and a dessert.
Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
