RONAN — The smoke has settled in with a vengeance. I sure hope everyone is taking precautions to protect themselves. Respiratory problems are not the only problem. If you have elderly friends or neighbors, take a moment to stop in and say hello. Depression is a big problem with not being able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. So, if you know someone who is not able to get out due to respiratory problems, pop-in and say a quick hello. You never know how much just giving a moment of your time will help a person out. It is a free solution to someone’s loneliness.

This next week will be pretty busy at the Ronan Senior Center. Monday, Sept. 11, the board meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Cards will be played at the center at 7 p.m. If you enjoy playing cards, you are always welcome to join them.

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the foot clinic will be at the center at 10 a.m. After lunch on that same day, the craft group will meet at the center. If you have a craft that you would like to do come and join the group. They do crafts and talk together. Betty says they do more talking than crafting, but you are welcome to join them for the merriment.

The menu for the next week is:

—  Wednesday, Sept. 6: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad, dessert

—  Friday, Sept. 8: Chinese buffet, vegetables, dessert

—  Monday, Sept. 11 French toast brunch, breakfast sides, dessert

—  Wednesday, Sept. 13: sub sandwiches, sides, dessert

—  Thursday, Sept. 14: our monthly evening meal with pork roast dinner, potatoes, vegetables, fruit, dinner rolls, dessert

The center is looking for a driver to deliver the noon meal to seniors five days a week. If you would be interested, contact the center at 406-676-2371.
