Editor,

To respond to Mr. Wunderlich’s Oct. 11 letter, I am writing my first letter to this paper or any paper on political issues.

I, like you, began my educational trek in Kalispell at Russell Grade School in the autumn of 1948. My parents were both democrats.

Unlike you, I am more progressive but now vote less for the party and more for the qualifications of the individual candidate. After traversing the 1980s under President Ronald Reagan, I believed we had experienced the least qualified president in the past 100 years of American political history.

Now America seems in the midst of a consortium of Russian Kremlin and republican leadership for the next 3.25 years of the American presidency.

The 2016 republican campaign has given us Trump-Pence. Pence was added to the political mix to “show the political novice” the ropes in a very chaotic political campaign season.

Should impeachment of novice Trump develop, I do not want to watch seasoned Pence claim no knowledge of the Kremlin interference in our American democracy.

During the Nixon impeachment threat in the 1970s, V.P. Spiro Agnew was already removed from office for accepting illegal financial kickbacks, so Speaker of the U.S. House became the new president. With the dysfunctionality involved in the republican party in the executive branch of our country, I want to see the change give us a legitimately appointed executive from the House of Representatives, in this case, Speaker Ryan.

I do not believe the American electorate should have to endure the lack of integrity, ethics, and wisdom on display in the executive branch of our republican executive government for the past nine months.

Perhaps the Trump- Pence administration will emerge as the worst administration of the last 100 years.
