Polson’s soccer season is over, but accolades continue to roll in

POLSON – Although the Polson High School boys’ and girls’ 2017 soccer season ended a little bit earlier than hoped for, that didn’t stop the post season accolades from rolling in.

In all, sixteen players from the Polson squads made their way on to post season lists.

For the Lady Pirates, both junior striker Ashlee Howell and senior Marina Mayorga earned All-State soccer status along with first team all-conference acknowledgements.

Lady Pirates on the all-conference second team were: Amelia Pittsley, Lilly Armstrong and Aisha Clarke.

Freshman goalkeeper Megan Rost made the honorable mention squad.

On the boys’ side of the pitch, Bridger Wenzel, Robin Erickson, Mack Moderie, Connor Lanier and Russ Smith were all selections on the All- State list.

Wenzel, Erickson, Moderie, Lanier, Smith and Linde Lambson nabbed first team all-conference nominations, while Alex Encizo, Michael Vergeront and Alex Wall-Wilbert rounded out the all-conference second team list. Alex Mausshardt was recognized with an honorable mention.
