POLSON – A 39-year-old Polson woman faces charges related to thefts from four area homes. Jennifer Michelle Fairchild was charged with four burglaries that took place from Sept. 11 to Oct. 22 and one count of tampering with evidence.

Various items, including a .357 Python pistol, were stolen from the homes, at least some of which had doors pried open.

A search warrant was executed of Fairchild’s residence on Oct. 25 and a number of the stolen items were found, including the pistol, a court record states.

Law enforcement returned on Oct. 26 with a warrant to search a Ford Expedition after witnesses reported that such a vehicle had been seen at some of the burglaries. At that time Fairchild jumped out a window of the residence and hid face down behind an out building before officers found her, the court document states. The rims on the vehicle had been changed and some of the vehicle had been spray painted.

Fairchild admitted to the break-ins and said she took a telescope from a residence on Swan Lane, according to the document. No one had yet reported that item stolen.

She pleaded not guilty in district court on Nov. 22. An April 16 trial date was set.
