News from Elks Lodge 1695

The Elks Lodge #1695 in Polson has partnered with the City of Polson Police Department to raise funds for the purchase of a replacement of the K-9 drug dog, Brody. Chad Komiofiske, Exalted Ruler and Bev Barrett, Drug Awareness Chairman presented Captain Allan Booth and Detective Richard Schoening of the Polson Police Department with a check for $2,752 for this fund.  This money comes from a $1,000 Montana State Elks Grant and a onetime Anniversary Grant of $1,500 from Elks National Foundation. The Anniversary Grant of $1,500 was awarded to all Lodges to celebrate the Elks 150-year anniversary. The balance of the money was gotten from a 50/50 drawing at an Elks dinner. Per Chief Wade Nash the current dog will be retired in approximately two years and therefore, the police department will be looking for funds to replace the current one.
