ARLEE – On Thursday evening, the Arlee Warriors had a strong showing as they hosted a three-team mixer wrestling event, their first home wrestling match of the season.
No team scores were kept, but individual results were recorded. The teams competing were Superior/Alberton, Plains/Hot Springs and Mission/Charlo.
“Our conditioning is good because the athletes work really hard in practice and in every drill we perform,” Arlee’s head coach Ken Hill said. “I think the team is progressing on a schedule which will see them peak at the Western B-C Divisional Tournament. We don’t have a lot of experience, so we are behind the curve in that sense, but we are really working hard to resolve the issues with technique and execution.”
Arlee continued to tune up for the Western B-C Divisional Tournament by competing on Saturday during the Buzz Lucey Memorial Tournament in Eureka.
The Warriors finished eleventh out of twelve teams with 50 points.
Both Jace Samsel (103) and George Shick (182) placed second and Colt Crawford (132) finished fourth for the Warriors.
