New year brings new hours for library

Are you ready for a reading challenge? If you would like to expand your reading horizons or just like a little variety, stop into the library and pick up a Winter Reading Program bingo card. You can also print one from our Facebook page – look for it in our timeline photos. There are 49 squares to choose from and if you get seven in a row and turn in your reading log to us, you will be entered into a prize drawing which will be held during National Library Week in April. The program runs all of winter – Dec. 21 through March 19.

We have added a new online resource to our website. A to Z World Food offers recipes, ingredient lists, information on food culture, dining etiquette and special occasion and holiday food lists for nearly every country in the world. You can find a link on our homepage. It is a very interesting educational tool and a fun way to expand your culinary world.

Our Friends of the Library group has new members. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in being part of this important group. We will be working toward getting the Friends group active with library programs and membership in the coming year.

Storytime began again on Jan. 11. The theme for this season is based on STEM – science, technology, engineering and math. Join Kendra for this fun Thursday program for kids ages 3-5 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Join us Wednesday, Jan. 17 for a snowman-themed adult coloring program with Angela from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library meeting room. Heather is offering two technology classes this month, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. is all about the library catalog and how to locate and put holds on items and MontanaLibrary- 2Go. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. is all about email. Call the library at 406-883-8225 to reserve your spot for the tech classes.

With the New Year came our new hours. We are now open Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will be closed Jan. 24 for a staff training day.

Watch for our annual Adopt-a-Book program in February in honor of “I Love to Read Month.” For $15 you can purchase a children’s book to add to our collection. We will even add a special note in the book for you. This is a nice way to honor someone you love or your love of reading.
