POLSON — The Lake County Health Department’s Parents as Teachers program will celebrate reading with two March Community Connections at the North Lake County Public Library, 2 First Ave. E. We will join Kendra at her Mother Goose Mondays on Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m. This program is designed for the youngest ones, ages 0-3, but older preschoolers are welcome to attend as well.
On Wednesday, March 21, at 3:30 p.m., we will celebrate spring with Kendra at her Story Time, and then each child will be able to plant some seeds in their own little flowerpot that they may decorate as they choose. The families can then take them home to watch the little plants grow.
Both events are free and open to the public. We are excited to partner with Kendra and the library, especially since research has shown that reading to your child is one of the very most important contributors to their success in later life.
Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children, and to learn more about the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. We provide snacks and door prizes, too.
