News from the Mission Valley Ministerial Association

Local musician Jordan Albert is the featured guest artist for the Mission Valley Has Talent competition to be held at 7 p.m., March 9, at the Polson High School Auditorium. Albert will entertain while judges tabulate results. Thirty-three local entertainers from ages 8 to 84 have auditioned for a chance to compete to be one of the 12 finalists.

Albert, who born into a musical family, plays drums, guitar, piano and is currently working to build confidence in his singing. “I would love to make a living with my music, it is what is in my blood,” he said. Albert is working to “tighten my craft, and every gig helps inspire me.”

Mission Valley Has Talent is a fundraiser for the Helping Hands Fund, a non-profit ministry of the Mission Valley Ministerial Association. Since 2004, Helping Hands Fund has provided emergency assistance to county residents. Newer programs include creation and distribution of baby boxes to all new babies in the county, collecting and distributing items during summer for firefighters, and collecting items for and filling backpacks to be used by local law enforcement to comfort children who are separated from familiar surroundings.

Entrance fees are $10 for adults and $5 for students or two cans of food for local food pantries. Tickets can be purchased from local churches, at the Berkshire Hathaway office on Highway 93 just before the Polson Bridge, or available at the door.

Volunteers are needed. To volunteer or for more information call Tillie 406-249-0837 or Jason 406-883-2447. Information is also available on the Mission Valley Has Talent Facebook page.
