ARLEE — When was the last time you took a defensive driving class? If it’s been two years or more you can remedy that by signing up for AARP’s current Smart Driver Course here in Arlee on Monday, March 26, at the Arlee Senior Citizen’s Center. You may sign up for the class by calling Lilie Willison to register. This is a four-hour class covering not only a quick review of basic traffic safety measures, but also new information on the latest driving strategies, new auto safety features, and state and local traffic laws. The cost is $15 for current AARP members, and $20 for non-AARP members. There’s no driving test, and no paper exams. While designed for drivers of 50 years and up, all are welcome. Montana law mandates insurance companies provide a discount for qualified participants. For additional information, you may contact instructor Amanda Hodges, at 406-644-3446. Registration starts at 9 a.m. There is a break for lunch at noon. Lunch is available at the Arlee Senior Center if you choose. It’s $4 for those 60 and over and $5 for those under 60. The menu is lasagna, green salad, and Red Velvet cake for dessert.
Our special dinner of the month is prime rib roast at the “Fourth Saturday” evening meal at 6 p.m. on March 24. Don’t forget to sign up for the $50 attendance drawing, which will take place at the last noon meal of the month on Friday, March 30.
We serve lunches at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and dinners at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
