National Library Week is April 8-14. We are offering our annual “Food for Fines” program during this week. If you have a few nagging library fines, this is your chance to clear them up. For each item of food brought in, we will waive $1 of your fines (not applicable to lost or damaged materials.) All food will be donated to the Polson Loaves and Fish Food Pantry. If you do not have any fines but would still like to contribute to our food drive, please feel free to drop off your items at the library.

We have an exciting program coming to the library this month. Anne Foster will present a Humanities Montana Conversations program entitled “Alcohol, Corsets & the Vote – a conversation with Mary Long Alderson” on Friday, April 20 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. These programs are always enjoyable to watch. They are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Heather will be hosting two technology programs this month. Her first is on Tuesday, April 10 on her favorite subject, Pinterest. Her second program is Tuesday, April 24 on Internet Basics. Both programs start at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Call the library at 883- 8225 to reserve your spot or just drop in.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, stop into the library to participate in our Black-Out Poetry display. We will have book pages for you to choose from as well as black markers. Haven’t tried this yet? We will show you what to do. It is a fun and creative way to create poetry.

Story Time continues this month at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursdays for pre-school age children. Kendra has some fun programs and crafts planned for the kids. We also have Mother Goose for the 0-3 age group at 10 a.m. on Mondays.

The library is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. We will be opening at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20 in order to host a luncheon to honor our library volunteers. Visit our website www.northlakecountylibrary.org, our Facebook page, and check the calendar section for updates on library happenings.
