Local museum on Travel Channel program
POLSON — On Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 7 p.m. MT, The Travel Channel’s “Mysteries at the Museum” program will air their program, which includes The Polson-Flathead Historical Museum’s Flathead Lake Monster and an interview with the museum President, Karen Dunwell, about this amazing event.
Host Don Wildman digs into the world’s greatest institutions to unearth extraordinary relics that reveal incredible secrets from the past. Through compelling interviews, rare archival footage and arresting recreations, “Mysteries at the Museum” illuminates the hidden treasures at the heart of history’s most incredible triumphs, sensational crimes and bizarre encounters. “Lucky Lucca, The Flathead Lake Monster and Bumbling to Berlin” - premieres Thursday, May 3, at 7 p.m. MT. In this episode Don Wildman investigates an explosive tale of a four-legged hero; a fearsome creature found in a Montana lake and a pilot’s attempt to push the boundaries of aviation.
Deadline nears to apply for 2019 conservation program
BOZEMAN – The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service has set a June 1, 2018, application cutoff for agricultural operators to be considered for 2019 conservation program funding through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
NRCS provides funding and technical assistance to help farmers and ranchers implement conservation practices that provide environmental benefits to help sustain agricultural operations. Conservation program participation is voluntary and helps landowners and operators defray the costs of installing conservation practices.
NRCS accepts conservation program applications year-round; however, applications for 2019 funding consideration must be submitted by June 1, 2018. Applications made after the June 1 cutoff will be considered in the next funding cycle. Additional information is available on the Montana NRCS website at www.mt.nrcs.usda.gov under the Programs tab or you can contact your local NRCS service center.
