Editor,
Do we know what could happen? Do we know how to pray? Are we ready for Armageddon? Is this judgment day?
That four liner speaks to me in reference to something very scary. It is about our extreme political polarization, so much anger toward and harsh judgment of others. It is actually tearing families and friendships apart. It is having severe and noticeable affects in our lives. Think how all of this is affecting our young people who watch, listen and learn.
Regarding my support for Caroline McDonald to be a Lake County Commissioner, I had the opportunity for a chat with Caroline at Sweet Bliss Coffee in Polson recently. We talked a lot about values and how important it is that our thoughts, our speech, and our actions are congruent and consistent. It is so important that this can be counted upon, especially in positions of leadership.
As stated in McDonald’s materials, “It is time for a new voice in local government, a voice with a clear track record of partnership building and getting things done.” In my view, bringing a female perspective to the Lake County Commission’s work is an important step in the right direction. Caroline McDonald’s theme is: “Building Bridges. Building our Future.”
Caroline’s leadership experience and achievement standards, to me, respond directly to our nations efforts to move us out of our stagnating extreme political polarization. We definitely need to act locally building the programs and leadership advancing our national and international efforts in working out our problems. “From community to national,” not the other way around.
