ARLEE – Nothing says Fourth of July like whoopin’ it up at the legendary Arlee Rodeo.

Since 1982, the Arlee Rodeo has been entertaining fans year after year with fast paced, high-energy rodeo action and this year’s show was no exception.

“The weather was good and the stock bucked well,” rodeo promoter R.T. Hendrickson said. Hendrickson also noted that he and his crew were complimented on the flow of the rodeo and the absence of down time between events.

The afternoon kicked off with an exhilarating round of pony bareback. Arlee resident Judy Myllymaki turned in the day’s fastest time, 14.79 seconds, in the ladies’ barrels. Abby Knight of Charlo finished second, and Hailey Weible of Charlo placed third.

Jamie Mullins of St. Ignatius enjoyed a successful go-round in saddle bronc riding. His 70-point ride was the afternoon’s top score.

Tie-down roping locals Cody Sheridan of Arlee snagged a second place with a time of 18.2 and Josh Harris of Ronan placed third.

Team Roping duo Sarah Crimmins of Ronan and Cassie Jumper of Kalispell won the event with a time of 8.51 and pocketed $360 each for their efforts. Jack McAllister and Josh Harris finished third.

Dixon’s Dusty Morigeau won the bareback competition with an 80-point ride and placing third in the stock saddle bronc. Cameron Brown of Ronan placed second in the stock saddle bronc.

In bull riding, Harlem’s T.J. Allen secured the top spot with an 83-point ride.
