HAMILTON – The Mission Valley Mariners American Legion baseball team’s season ended Saturday with a 1-2 record in the Western A American Legion baseball district tournament in Hamilton.

On Thursday, the Mariners opened tournament play with a 10-8 win over the Kalispell Lakers.

Corbin Davis and Xavier Fisher both lead the Mariners at the pate going 3-for-4. On the mound Dylan Wisnieski picked up the win.

In Friday’s action the Mariners were held to just two hits in a 9-0 shut out loss to the Glacier Twins.

Saturday morning in a loser-out game, the Mariners fell 7-5 in a tight battle with the Missoula Mavericks. The Mariners held a 2-1 advantage until the sixth and seventh innings were the Mavericks scored six runs to take the lead. A Mariner three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh wasn’t enough to keep their season alive.
