POLSON – Last Wednesday evening, the Montana Democratic Party opened an office in Polson to support the campaigns of candidates in the upcoming November election.

Announced by the Montana Democratic Party in a press release, “Polson is just the latest installment in the Montana Democratic Party’s energetic, dynamic organizing program that has six rural offices and offices in each of the Big Seven Montana towns.”

In recent weeks, the Montana Democratic Party has opened offices in Hamilton, Livingston, Havre, Miles City, and Glendive. While back in May, the Montana Democratic Party opened offices in Great Falls, Helena, Billings, Missoula, Bozeman, Kalispell, and Butte.

The office, which is located at 105 Main St. Suite #D, will be shared by local candidate for county commissioner Caroline McDonald, state candidates Andy Shirtliff for public service commissioner district 5, Eldena Bear Don’t Walk, candidate for house district 93 and Susan Evans, who is seeking the house district 12 seat.

Kathleen Williams, who is challenging incumbent Greg Gianforte for the lone U.S. congressional seat, is also sharing the office space.

“The main purpose of having this office open is to engage voters by knocking on doors and making phone calls,” said Shirtliff and McDonald office staffer Thai Nguyen.

On Wednesday evening, during the office opening celebration, each candidate delivered remarks to the local volunteers and voters in attendance.

“We have a long way from now until November,” congressional hopeful Kathleen Williams told the gathering of constituents. “We are going up against a multi-millionaire, the wealthiest man in congress, but he has been beaten before. With all your help, we are going to do it again.”

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
