RONAN — Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County announced on July 31 they have been selected to receive $50,000 from Lowe’s Renovation Across the Nation, representing the state of Montana. The local organization is one of 51 Boys and Girls Clubs around the country to receive this grant to create safer spaces for the Ronan community’s kids and teens. The $50,000 grant from Lowe’s will be used to renovate a new space for a teen center. The grant is part of a program between Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Lowe’s that provides one Club in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. with a grant and volunteer support from Lowe’s to complete much-needed improvements and renovations.

Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County was selected as the signature Club in the state of Montana for 2018. As the need to update facilities increases and maintenance costs rise, Lowe’s support will help the Club make critical improvements to ensure the Club remains a safe and inviting place for the Ronan community’s teens.

“This grant helps to ensure that teens in our community have an enriching and safe place to thrive,” says Aric Cooksley, the Club’s Executive Director.

The renovations began in February and the Club will be partnering with the Missoula Lowe’s store and many community partners to complete the renovation. The new clubhouse is scheduled to be finished this fall.
