News from The Governor’s Office of Community Service

HELENA — The Governor’s Office of Community Service, in partnership with Karen and Leroy Zent, is accepting nominations for the Abby M. Zent Recognition, the office announced today.

Provided in memory of Abby M. Zent, the recognition honors those who, like Abby, have dedicated their lives to service and volunteerism. Abby served two terms in AmeriCorps VISTA with the Prevention Resource Center and volunteered with programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and the Humane Society.

Montanans who have served with AmeriCorps VISTA, and continue to show a spirit of service throughout their lives, are eligible. To nominate an individual, visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FLTCTGV.

Recognitions are provided to at least two Montanans, one of whom is over the age of 55. Well suited nominees are purposeful, mission-driven individuals who have demonstrated sustained service to others, and inspire others to make service part of their lives, particularly in the areas of safe and affordable housing, youth leadership development, and arts and culture.

Nominations are accepted through Dec. 31, 2018, and individuals selected will be honored at the ServeMontana Symposium in Helena next March.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service expands and promotes national service and volunteerism in Montana and engages citizens in service. Visit: serve.mt.gov for more information.
