Editor,

Thank you for all your support of Cowboy Country and the Gold Dust Girls dance at the Elks.

I want to express my appreciation to many of my friends (nine) for helping before, during and after the dance; to the Elks; Anderson Broadcasting Music Minute; for all who advertised for this event, either by computer or newspapers for us (four); for all of our local business that let us put up posters (about 50 or more). As you can see, it took a pretty large team to make this happen. What an awesome valley we live in.

The dance was a huge success because of all of you and all who attended. At one point it was standing room only. Four of our local ladies came to listen and dance, so elected to come in and wait for seats. Now we were getting a little nervous because we didn’t want to turn anyone away. Everything worked out great except for some who came after 10 p.m. and we were sorry they missed such a great band. This band plays at the Eagles in Kalispell once a month on a Saturday. They actually played on the 11th and we were able to dance again on Saturday night. Their next dance will be on the 8th of September at the Eagles in Kalispell from 7 to 11 p.m., so if you were unable to attend our Polson dance, it is really worth the drive to Kalispell to hear them.

One thing was evident, everyone seemed so happy and dancing a lot. The dance floor was full most of the time but not over crowded, which was nice.

My appreciation goes out again to those who attended, as attendance is a large part of what makes a dance a success. Without dancers there would be no dance.

Thank you for making this dance such a wonderful evening.

Ellen Achenbaugh
