DAYTON — Dayton Daze, the Chief Cliff Volunteer Fire Department, Quick Response Unit’s annual fundraiser, kicks off at the Dayton Park with “Montana Gold Rush,” a costume event with cash prizes for best costumes. The open car show starts at 10 a.m., (registration at 9 a.m.), with cold treats, sweets, crafts and more ,early in the day before the parade starts at 1 p.m., (line-up at noon). All-day activities include the rifle raffle (for a Henry Big Boy .357 magnum/.38 with case), a silent auction, a can raffle, 50/50, Billy Bob’s Barbecue, beer, kids and firefighter games, face-painting, and much more. Even the Dayton Harbor gets into the act with sailboat rides. The Mission Mountain Winery offers free wine-tasting, the Dayton Presbyterian Church will offer food and a ladies’ bazaar; and several historic buildings in Proctor will be open for tours before the parade. After the event closes at 5 p.m., activities will shift to the newly opened Mountain Meadows at Lake Mary Ronan for spirits, food and music. Come out and support your local firefighters and emergency services personnel and have a rip-roaring time with the whole family, including your well-mannered dog(s) on leashes. See you there.
