News from Polson's Northwest Accordion Association

POLSON — Polson’s Northwest Accordion Association’s Jam/Dance will take place on Sunday, Sept. 2. Our accordion jams/dances are held on the first Sunday of each month at the Elks ballroom on Main Street and the third Sunday of each month in Kalispell at the Eagles. Accordion, guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin, etc., are all welcome to come and play. Singers who sing country or accordion type music are encouraged to come with or without an instrument and to bring a mic and amp if you have them. All those playing instruments do have to have their own equipment and also encouraged to bring a mic and amp if you have them.

We especially encourage our younger students and young adults who would like to get some experience on stage to come and play with some of the more experienced accordion players. If you play, you don’t pay, to get in. Everyone sings and plays in rotation. If you feel uncomfortable in playing in front of people we would be happy if you would just come, get up on stage and play alongside some of the more experienced players, in hopes that in time, you will feel more comfortable. You would not have to have a mic in front of you unless you have one and want to use it. The main thing is to come, build your confidence and enjoy the afternoon with us. Bring your family, they may enjoy listening or dancing to the music.

This is another community function and you do not have to be a member of the Elks or the Accordion Association to come, play, sing, dance, listen and enjoy some really nice music. If you like to waltz, polka, two-step, cha, cha, etc., or just want to come and listen; you are all welcome.

Admission is $2 for Association members, $3 for non-members and $5 if you would like to become a member of the Association. For adults, drinks are available for purchase in the bar. For all others the bar also has soft drinks for sale. Water is also available at the bar but they do not have bottled water for purchase.

We do have a great time together, so please come if you can.
