Curtis Auld

ELMO — Curtis Michael Auld, 67, of Elmo, passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.

“Curdy” was the sixth child born in Polson, to Mose Auld and Alice Wakan. While proud of his Sioux roots, he was a traditional Kootenai man. Curt enjoyed the simple things in life, loved rodeos and powwows, playing the machines at the casino or even just a leisurely Sunday drive in the mountains. He was at his best when visiting relatives, young and old. His sense of humor, wit and laughter were contagious. He had a smile for all and had a genuine love for his two sons, all his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents who helped raise him, Lucy and Peter Auld; his father, Mose Auld; his mother, Alice Wakan; his siblings, Darlene, Virgil, Carson, and Edward Auld; his nephew, Sean Bigby; and his niece, Jazmin Auld.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Auld (Maggie), Emerson Auld (Ivy); and his many grandchildren, Glenna and Jimmy Askan, Linda Auld, Francis and Dee Auld, Jimmy and Dianne Auld, Earl and Darlene Auld, Margaret and Tanna Auld, Linda Wakan (Tiny), and Delilah Wakan (Tom). Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews from Dayton to Evaro and his good friend, Bob Dupuis, and his favorite driver, Colleen Couture.

Services have been held.

Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at: www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com. The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory of Polson is assisting the Auld family with arrangements.
