News from Whitefish Stage Organic Farms

KALISPELL – Whitefish Stage Organic Farms, at 2288 Whitefish Stage Rd., approximately one mile north of Reserve in Kalispell, completed a 4,000 bale straw bale maze estimated at approximately 20,000 square feet. It is shaped like a tractor and built entirely out of straw.

The maze took about four weeks and hundreds of hours to assemble. The maze will open to the public on Saturday, September 15, at 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will remain open every Saturday and Sunday through October 28. General admission to the maze is $8 and will be free for children 2 years and younger with an adult. A special discount is available for groups of 10 or more.

As well as the maze, general admission includes a barrel train ride, hay wagon ride, mini-maze puzzle, giant inflatable pillow, super trampoline, a barn-jungle gym, corn play bins, corn-hole, pumpkin bowling, farm-animals petting zoo, access to the food truck and a 100 percent organic, (unsprayed with herbicides and pesticides) pumpkin patch.

As well as the other activities, the farm has its own food truck serving farm burgers with local grass fed beef and farm veggies as well as fresh apple cider and baked goods using the farm’s produce. The farm will also host groups and birthday parties. The farm will also be selling their pumpkins, beef and other produce during this time.

Whitefish Stage Organic Farms is a 65-acre certified organic farm started in 2016 and boasts almost 20 acres of fruit and vegetable production. The fruit and veggies are supplied to the approximately 200 members who participate in their vegetable share, as well as local grocery stores and restaurants. The company employees approximately 14 workers and estimates they provide approximately 2000 meals a week to Flathead residents.
