ST. IGNATIUS – After a week of homecoming activities at Mission High School, the community turned out Friday afternoon for the school’s annual parade leading up to the football game against Seeley-Swan Blackhawks later that evening. Flint McPherson and Afton Brander were this year’s homecoming king and queen.

On Friday evening, the Bulldogs improved their record to 3-2 for the season with a 38-24 victory over the Blackhawks.

The Lady Dawgs, on Saturday, battled Powell County in a Class B girls’ volleyball conference matchup. Powell County prevailed in four sets 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20.

Karolyna Buck and Addison Arlint led the Lady Dawgs with 10 kills each, Hunter Eichert had 34 assists, and Caitlyn Sorrell added 17 digs.

“Powell County is one of the top teams in our conference, and we came ready to battle them this week. The girls practiced hard this week in preparation,” Lady Dawg’s head coach Rhandy Cox said. “We didn’t come away with the win, but every single Lady Dawg went into the locker room with their heads high.”
