Patricia Jersey

RONAN — Patricia Kathleen Palmer Jersey, long of this world, passed on to the next world on Sept. 25, 2018. She was born on Aug. 18, 1923, to Ralph Lee Palmer and Lucille Anne Wagner Palmer in Livingston. She spent her childhood on a ranch near Livingston, proceeded to earn a bachelor’s degree from Montana State College at Bozeman and subsequently pursued a teaching career that took her to Red Lodge, Three Forks, Harlowton, Geyser and finally to Townsend.

She married Art Jersey in 1947 and for decades they made their home a few miles south of Toston. In pursuit of winter sun and green chili, she moved to New Mexico in the late 1990s and remained there until earlier this year when she returned to Montana, which she always considered her home.

Pat loved horses, dogs, grandchildren, time outside, ice cream, great-grandchildren and sunny days. She valued social justice, honesty and humane treatment of animals.

She was predeceased by her husband, Art; her son, David; and her daughter, Lee Anne.

Family who continue to remember and celebrate her smiles, generosity and fairness are her daughter and son-in-law, Susy and Allen Corneliusen; daughter Janelle Jersey; granddaughters Ambree (Shawn) Blixt and KadiJo Corneliusen; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Kaden and LeeAnna; and the ever elusive Jerry. And Arthur, rest assured that we know who really dropped the cookie crumbs at the foot of the bed.

A private memorial service has been held. In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be returned to the earth near her childhood home.

Toodles, Mom.
