RONAN — Our nights are getting colder and reminding us that winter will soon be upon us. I am not sure that I am ready for the changes but I guess it will come whether I am ready or not.
There are several things coming up at the Ronan Senior Center. On Thursday, Oct. 11, the monthly evening meal will be served at 5 p.m.
On Wednesday, Oct. 17, the foot clinic will take place from 9-11 a.m. There will also be someone here to check and clean your hearing aids on that same day.
Flu shots will be offered on Oct. 19 at the senior center.
We will honor our “Senior of the Year,” Richard Tobel, on Oct. 24.
All citizens 90 years and older that join us on Nov. 2, will be honored with a free lunch.
The menu for the coming week is:
— Wednesday, Oct. 10: Polish dogs, sides, salad, dessert
— Thursday, Oct. 11: at 5 p.m. - evening meal - pork roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, vegetables, dessert
— Friday, Oct. 12: cook’s choice
— Monday, Oct. 15: pork chow mien, salad, dessert
— Wednesday, Oct. 17: Goulash, sides, salads, bread, dessert
The yearly bazaar will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10. If you have homemade items you would like to sell, contact the Ronan Senior Center to reserve your table. There will also be a bake sale on that day and a lunch of soup, roll and dessert will be available for purchase. Mark your calendar so you can take advantage of the chance to do some early Christmas shopping.
