I have clothes that no longer fit. I keep telling myself I’m going to slim down. I accidentally selected a pair of trousers from that group and when I couldn’t get them buttoned around my waist, I told Fran that I think the dryer is shrinking my clothes. She replied, “No, Dave, it’s the refrigerator.”
At senior bowling, Cris Alter once again swept the honors with her 288 game, 790 series and 790 handicap series with Vivian Ross nipping at her heels, rolling a 722 handicap series. When Vivian is on, you don’t want to be her opponent. Jim Funke had a 274 high game and Jesse Barry scored a 678 series. Jesse also had 807 handicap series.
Our shipment of See’s Candy has arrived. This year it is $20/box.
It’s not too early to begin planning for Thanksgiving. As always, we will be having the meal here at the center. It is sponsored by the community churches and depends on many donations of food and people who will help.
The menu for the coming week is as follows:
– Thursday, Nov. 1 - goulash, French bread
– Friday, Nov. 2 - cheeseburgers, tater tots
– Monday, Nov. 5 - stuffed pepper soup, corn bread muffin
– Tuesday, Nov. 6 - pork chops, whipped potatoes
– Wednesday, Nov. 7 – soft shell tacos, refried beans
Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Vegetables and a dessert are included.
