Editor,

On July 26 just before noon, my husband and I were involved in an accident at U.S. Highway 93 and Main Street in Ronan. We would sincerely like to thank the first responders to the accident for their professionalism and genuine concern for our wellbeing. There are too many to acknowledge by name, and unfortunately, we did not get the names of everyone who was so helpful and consoling. One unnamed angel was a young woman with a soothing voice and touch and a gorgeous colorful tattoo on her arm. She was such a calming voice for me to focus on as I sat in our damaged car. To this young woman, I send my gratitude and thanks. Our thanks, also, to Officer David Bennett for his gathering of information for us and dealing with the logistics at the accident scene. His help was immeasurable. Thanks to Chris Adler and his crew for towing our car off the road and then taking it off the truck so we could remove our personal belongings.

We are grateful that this accident did not result in serious injuries to any of us involved directly or to any innocent bystanders. As was pointed out to us several times throughout this ordeal, cars are only metal and can be replaced — people cannot.

So, our sincere thanks to you, Ronan, for taking care of us in our hour of need. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

Sandy and Jerry Yanz
Arvada, Colo.
