RONAN — Sylvia Staton, age 94, passed away on Jan. 21, 2019, at her residence with her son at her side. She was born on Dec. 12, 1924, in Douglas, North Dakota, the daughter of Torkel and Clara Carlson.
She was a Rosie the Riveter in the San Diego Ship yards during WWII. She met and married Walter Staton in San Diego. She was an avid gardener and loved flower gardening as well. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Walter Staton; her sisters, Cora, Tammy, Ella, Edna and Agnes; and her brother, Kenneth.
She is survived by her son, Scott; her sister-inlaw, Sylvia Carlson and her three children and grandchildren; her granddaughter, Kgyn Kuka; and her great-granddaughters, Kuhnee and Kingslei Kuka.
