Andrew Tressel

CUT BANK — Andrew Joel “AJ” Tressel, age 34, passed away on Monday March 11, 2019, at his home in Cut Bank. He was born on April 27, 1984, in Kalispell, and was raised primarily in Lakeside until the family moved to Rollins when he was 13.

Andrew always loved being outdoors, especially camping and fishing. At age 6, he discovered the joy of cooking and he carried that through his life, even studying culinary arts at the Trapper Creek Job Corps.

He also loved music and could play just about any instrument he picked up, including piano, fiddle and guitar. He was an avid reader and writer. He made cooking his main career, but because of his penchant for fixing things, (and taking things apart), he learned small engine repair, and earned money that way as well.

Andrew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim Uhde of Rollins, Fred and Shirley Samson of Rollins, and William and Dorothy Tressel of Ohio.

Andrew is survived by his parents, Richard and Cheri (Uhde) Tressel of Rollins; his siblings: Joyanne (David) Unruh of Ronan, Sarah (Isaac) Monen of Kalispell, Levi (Zoe) Tressel of Wasilla, Alaska, David (Alayney) Tressel of Great Falls, Emily Tressel of Morton Grove, Illinois, Joshua Tressel of Hollywood, California, Benjamin, Evangelina and Nathaniel of Rollins, Robert Gochis and Chad Methvin Gochis.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Leroy and Mary Beth “Liz” Steele of Polson, and 11 nieces and nephews: Cadence Olesen, Christian Olesen, Atiana and Trinity Unruh, of Ronan; Raiden, Kyler and Mallory Monen of Kalispell; Joseph, Robin and Carter Tressel of Great Falls; Robert Miller of Morton Grove, Illinois; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his girlfriend, Destini Mattson.

Andrew was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held this summer and will be announced at a later date.
