News from Mick Holien, Mission Mountain Golf Course

RONAN — It is an annual affair of more than a couple of decades but that does not diminish the excitement of having University of Montana coaches visit the Mission Valley for a round of golf this month.

UM head football coach Bobby Hauck, who has plenty of game, headlines a robust group who will rotate on teams in Ronan on May 17.

In addition to help raise scholarship money for all UM sports teams, because coaches and administrators rotate through the teams, golfers ask that question you have always wanted an answer to.

Now in the second season of returning to his alma mater, after winning 70 games in his initial six-year tenure, Hauck has signed some 18 in-state players to improve upon a six-win campaign of a year ago.

As a part of the spring fundraising campaign, coaches have said this is one of their favorite tournaments and it has been highly successful in previous years.

Shotgun start for the 2019 memorial event begins at 11 a.m. and entry includes the usual pig roast, complimented by Rocky Mountain oysters, prizes and short coaches program updates.

There also is the usual excellent silent auction and hole sponsorships are available as well.
