News from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks

LAKE COUNTY —The last bowhunter education class for Lake County, before the archery season opens, is scheduled for July 16, 18, and 20. Classes will be from 6-9 p.m. on the first two days and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Students must attend all sessions and pass a test to become certified. Students can register at the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks website. All students must preregister and bring a completed manual the first night to be allowed to attend the classes.

The Mission Valley Archers will host their summer starter 3D archery shoot on June 29 and 30. There will be two rounds of 20 life-size targets with plaques or medals for the top three scores for each age group that shoot both days. Archery games, a calling seminar and door prizes are scheduled to make it a fun filled weekend. Choice of fish carvings by Jim Nesladek will be up for auction each day. Concessions will be on sight. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Irvine Flats Road begins one mile North of the Polson Bridge.

For more information on either the bowhunter education class or the archery shoot, call Larry Rattray at 406-261-7199.
