Georgiana Faust

BILLINGS — Georgiana Faust died peacefully at her home in Billings on May 9. She was born in Polson in 1933, the first daughter of N.B. Slim and Ruth McAlear Coppedge. All her grandparents were Flathead Reservation homesteaders. She started first grade in Stevensville, attending the rest of the grades in Polson, graduating in 1951, awarded the Good Citizenship Medal. She taught swimming at the golf course beach and worked for her dad in his insurance office; in exchange, he financed her college education. She graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Secretarial Home Arts in 1955. She married her college beau, Ronald Faust, in Polson, in 1956.

She was an accomplished twirler and led the Polson band at the Spokane Lilac Festival where her photo appeared in the Spokesman Review. She also led the U of M Band and the Missoula Elks Club Band.

She sewed, quilted, crafted and hung wallpaper for her families, baked Faust checkerboard cookies for her family’s sports teams, and excelled at entertaining in all her homes. She and Ron hosted many family trips throughout the United States and Europe.

Her life with Ron included residences in Forsyth, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, San Jose, Billings and the West Boulder area. Their family was complete with son Stephen in 1957, Johanna in 1958 and Ronnie in 1960. She and Ron were Grizzly fans.

Her survivors include her husband; her children and their spouses; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her sister, Sharon Fulton; and her sisters-inlaws, Sharon Lincoln and Gay Coppedge Federico.

Her parents and brother, Jack, preceded her in death. Services were held in Billings on May 17.
