RONAN — The summer is turning quite smoky. I hope everyone is staying safe. Please remember to check up on the elderly as the smoke can be very dangerous for people with breathing problems.
Our monthly board meetings have been changed from the first Monday of each month to the first Friday of each month. Our next board meeting will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, at 9:30 a.m.
The senior of the year for the area has been chosen and Bonnie Maschler was awarded the honor for her many contributions of time to the Ronan Senior Center.
We are having a raffle to raise funds to help with operating expenses. There is a picnic theme with five pounds of hamburger, two rib steaks, a beef roast, hamburger buns, pickles, olives, an apron, a tablecloth and several other items all supplied in a large tub that can be used to keep your beverages cold. The raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. To purchase a ticket contact the Ronan Senior Center at 406-676-2371. The prize drawing will be held on Aug. 2, so hurry and get your tickets.
Bingo is played Fridays after the noon meal. If you would like to play bingo come and join us for lunch and stay to play bingo.
Card playing will be held at the center on Monday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. Come and join if you enjoy playing cards.
The menu for the coming week:
— Wednesday, July 31: bison stroganoff, noodles, salads, dessert
— Friday, Aug. 2: catfish
— Monday, August 5: barbecue chicken, salads, vegetables, dessert
— Wednesday, Aug. 7: tator-tot casserole, salads, vegetables, dessert The monthly evening meal will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, with a pork roast dinner served along with mashed potatoes, vegetables, salads, and dessert.
