PABLO — After reading about the addition planned to make life more comfortable for Stacey Stalheim and his family, the Two Eagle River student council donated $500 to help complete the remodel.
Stacey will be 8 soon and has infantile scoliosis, no immune system, paralyzed vocal cords and struggles with hearing loss as well as not being able to see. The addition will provide room for physical therapy and also space to maneuver a growing Stacey and his wheelchair.
Then the students heard about Travis Couture’s baby, an infant in need of a kidney transplant, so they donated $500 for this family.
The students raised the money by working the concession stands for TERS basketball games and selling baked goods at the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal complex, according to Judi Gibbs, student council advisor.
Even though that left the seniors with no money for a senior celebration, Gibbs said she was proud of the kids. A raffle of a donated quilt and other items raised some money for the seniors.
TERS student council officers are: president Artie Mendoza; vice president Audrey Finley; secretary/treasurer Ashley Lozeau; and senior representative Charlene Conica.
