News from Lake County Democrats

RONAN — Lake County Democrats are sponsoring a program devoted to the 2020 Census to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Ronan Senior Citizens Center, located at 528 Main Street SW.

Mary Craigle, Montana U.S. Census Bureau director for Montana, and Colleen McCarthy, partnership specialist, will present the program.

The decennial census is a count of every person living in the U.S. as of April 1, 2020.

Montana receives approximately $2.5 billion each year from 300 federal programs based on census counts and information. Census data are also used to reapportion the House of Representatives, determining how many seats each state gets.

Based on the 2020 census count, Montana could qualify for an additional House seat.

It is expected between 4,000-4,500 jobs will be available throughout Montana for the 2020 Census count.

Come listen to this program and have your questions answered.
