Editor,
Strong public schools are the cornerstone of a successful community. Whether or not you work for the school or have a child in the district, our entire community is better when the quality of education is improved across the board. Improvements that will be made from the passage of both Polson School District Facility Bonds (elementary and high school district bonds) will enable our students the opportunity to receive an education in a 21st century learning environment. Some upgrades include secure and controlled access, updated lighting, environmental-health upgrades and proper heating and cooling. Elementary grade-level configuration will occur, keeping second graders in Cherry Valley and fifth graders in Linderman.
Creating community space in the schools is important so we can come together for school events that accommodate all accessibility levels, allow for adult education and community gym space. For additional upgrades please see https://www.polson.k12.mt.us/community/bond-information.
Registered Polson School District voters will have two school-improvement bond initiatives to consider in a mail-in election. The bond request is designed to provide funds to ensure the district’s current aging buildings stay safe and functional and provide academic and community opportunities. We encourage citizens in the Polson School District to offer support by voting “yes” on both bonds. A vital aspect of an attractive and holistic community is its educational quality and willingness to invest in youth through safe, efficient, state-of-the art learning centers. Please take the time to fill it out. Vote “yes” and mail in your votes with postage by Dec. 3.
