POLSON – Downtown was aglow Friday evening as Polson’s annual Parade of Lights lit up Main Street bringing hundreds out to celebrate the holiday season.

Festive holiday music filled the air as more than 25 bright and colorful illuminated floats and fire trucks inched their way past cheering and bundled up spectators lining the street.

Winning this year’s Best of Parade float was Oh Well Drilling and Pump’s brightly decorated pump truck pulling a house with Santa waving out of a chimney.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center was awarded the Most Creative float. The Best Light Display went to the Polson Health float, and the Most Humorous Float award went to the Polson Running Club’s entry that featured a singing Elvis on top of a colorfully lit UFO with aliens dancing around it.

Santa ended the procession waving to children from his seat atop his float.

The evening culminated with a bonfire on Third Ave East, where parade-goers warmed themselves drinking hot cocoa, chatting with friends and making smores.
